iPac Packaging Innovations launches new and improved iZorb® range

North East thermoforming specialist iPac Packaging Innovations is celebrating the relaunch of one of its most innovative products to date.

Working closely with the food industry, the specialist team at iPac has successfully redesigned the new and improved iZorb® packaging range, which eliminates the need for absorbent pads in food trays as frequently seen in conventional packaging.

Available in various S-range and D-range footprints, the industry-leading packaging design features cavities that lock in liquid, negating the need for the traditional absorbent pad, reducing weight, minimising cost, and crucially eliminating non-recyclable pads from mainstream usage. This new iZorb® range provides 25+% improvement in liquid retention, making it the best on the market.

Jonny Catto, Managing Director at iPac, said, “As packaging specialists, we are committed to manufacturing quality products led by design innovation. iZorb® is one of iPac’s latest initiatives designed to improve recyclability as we continue to focus on sustainable solutions, cost reduction and reducing society’s impact on the environment”.

iPac’s core commitment to producing fully recyclable products through solutions-led ingenuity is undoubtedly helping to attract customers looking to partner with a sustainable packaging supplier. Established in 2016, the Gateshead-based business is already seeing an annual output exceeding 300 million units, with output expected to increase further.

Jonny continued, “As a high-volume packaging manufacturer, sustainability has to be at the forefront of our product offering. We supply 100% recyclable rPET and polypropylene pots, tubs, and trays which themselves are made using recycled content of up to 100%. We also invest heavily in both Product and Materials R&D to ensure that we are at the cutting edge of sustainable packaging development”.

The AA BRCGS-accredited business works closely with customers across the food and pharmaceutical industries, providing design and development solutions, as well as market-leading manufacturing and service delivery.
