NE Youth launch Big Summer campaign
NE Youth Launches ‘Big Summer’ Campaign to Combat Holiday Hunger and Isolation Across the North East.
NE Youth Big Summer
For many young people, the long summer holidays can be a time of isolation, hunger, and missed opportunities. NE Youth, the region’s leading youth development charity, is determined to change that with the launch of its bold new campaign: Big Summer.
The campaign aims to provide young people across the North East with a summer packed with food, fun, friendship, and freedom. NE Youth is calling on local people and businesses to help shape the future of the region – one young person at a time. The goal is to raise £30,000 over the next two months. This funding will facilitate six weeks of safe, supported, and inspiring activities for all young people, regardless of their background or income.

By supporting the Big Summer campaign, corporate partners and individual donors are not just giving back; they are investing in the region’s future talent, resilience, and wellbeing. Every contribution directly funds:
Nutritious Meals: Providing hot food for every young person who attends, ensuring no child goes hungry.
Engaging Activities: Delivering inclusive experiences that develop confidence, build crucial life skills, and foster friendships.
Safe Community Spaces: Maintaining welcoming hubs where young people can connect, learn, and simply be themselves.
“Youth work is transformational,” a spokesperson for NE Youth stated. “It’s about more than keeping young people occupied- it’s about unlocking their potential. This campaign will help them develop leadership and communication skills, build resilience, and support their emotional well-being.”
You can make a real and immediate difference in our communities. Here’s how to get involved:
Donate: Make a one-off or recurring donation as an individual or a corporation.
Sponsor: Fund a full week of the Big Summer programme.
Offer In-Kind Support: Provide venues, volunteer time, or other valuable resources.
Share The Message: Amplify the campaign through your social networks, company platforms, and word of mouth.
